EUROBIKE 2008: EUROBIKE DEMO DAY: NEW SADDLES, THE GREEN LIGHT AND TT BIKES
September 3, 2008

Eurobike's Demo Day took place in the small and charming town of Argenbuhl, Germany. Two road loops were available to riders to test and ride new products from an amazingly large number of companies. Specialized, Trek, Giant, Scott, Cervelo and many more set up shop to give enthusiasts a try of their 2009 offerings. We will be posting stories every day to show you the latest and greatest from Eurobike 2008, but to get things started, here are a few of the more exiting products and stories we have seen so far.

SHIMANO ELECTRIC DURA-ACE
You have most likely heard about the new electric Dura-Ace, but for the first time, we actually got a chance to shift it, see the final battery location and figure out what that green light means? The shifting, by the way, was crisp and dreamy. A distinct sound let's you know what is happening with each shift and the pressure was minimal to make things happen. We were pleasantly blown away and want to ride it as soon as possible.
The battery location. Simple.

One touch of the lever and the green light indicates you have a full charge.

FIZIK'S NEW ANTARES SADDLE
Fizik chose Eurobike's Demo Day to debut their brand new saddle for 2009, the Antares. Designed to fit in between the Arione and the Aliante, the Antares weighs a scant 145 grams and will come in a Braided (carbon) and K:ium version. We also found out that a TT version of the saddle it being tested by the Garmin team now and should be out in the world in the near future.

The Antares boasts 300-percent more padding and 15-percent more flat surface over competing saddles.
THE LIGHTWEIGHT BOOTH AND TT BIKES
Known for their amazingly light wheels and products, the Lightweight booth at Demo Day featured two, stunning TT bikes.

Pearl Cycles version of the ultimate wind cheater.

Carbon Sport's take on TT bikes. We aren't sure if it's retro, genius, a new take on an old idea, or just plain silly.
