Day one of Eurobike 2008 began with a meeting with Scott Montgomery of Scott USA to go over their 2009 of road bikes. Still buzzing from the recent news that Scott Bicycles will now be the bike sponsor of Team Columbia, Scott Montgomery had a lot to positive things to say about Bob Stapleton, Team Columbia and how happy they are as a company to be a part of that young and talented team. Scott said, “It’s the best team I’ve ever been associated with.” You can read more about how it all happened here
THE EXPANDED SCOTT LINE Known for high-end bikes like the 2009 Plasma Limited ($9000) or the Limited LTD ($11,000) we were actually struck by four products in the mid to low-end while we looked at the line today. It's no secret Scott knows how to handle the high-end customer, now they are poised to also intrigue another subset of riders. The Addict CX RC, The Contessa Line, The Sub 10 and and the Plasma 20 stand out in their 2009 line.

Cross fanatics world-wide now have something more to rejoice about. The Addict CX RC is a scant 980 grams, features carbon dropouts, a SRAM Red group with FSA SL-K cranks, mud-cutter chainstays, ample tire clearance, a new Ritchey-designed fork and a price tag of $6499. If you want the image without the price tag, Scott offers a Team Comp alloy version that is fender ready in case you have a cross track on your way to and from work.

Scott's women-focused Contessa line features two high-end options, the $2799 Contessa CR1 and the $3699 Contessa Plasma.

The flat-bar, Sub-10 line of bikes from Scott is their attempt (succesful by the way) to address the growing hoards of people who actually want to ride their bikes to run errands, head downtown, get to work and enjoy themselves. The XT/Deore equipped Sub 10 will run you $1100, but there is also a Sub 30 in the line for $599.

Inspired by the $9000 Plasma Limited that Norman Stadler will race in Kona in a few weeks, the Plasma 20 is new for 2009, ready to assist the 40-percent increase of triathletes who have joined USAT in 2008. The even better news, it will only run you $2599.
