Manuel Beltran told La Gazzeta dello Sport he was interrogated by French police until 3am today, and wanted to thank everyone who had sent him messages of solidarity and support. Beltran is hoping everything out for the best and is awaiting the result of the analysis of his B sample. "Everyone has been reminding me of all the times that the analysis of the B sample didn’t confirm the result of the A sample”, explained Beltran. “I hope this will not hurt in any way Liquigas or my teammates and I hope no one goes after them in an indiscriminate way”.
Christian Prudhomme, Tour de France director commented on Beltran’s alleged positive, saying "This proves that the controls are real and AFLD is doing their work in an independent way.”, while in Spain, the director of the Vuelta Espana said "If Beltran’s positive test is conferma, we will take away the invitation of Team Liquigas". Last April, the Vuelta pulled the invite of Team High Road, now Team Columbia, due to the internal doping issues from the previou incarnation, Team Deutsche Telekom.
