STAGE 17: CARLOS SASTRE IS THE KING OF L’ALP D’HUEZ AND THE TRIPLE-KICKER, STAGE 17 OF THE TOUR DE FRANCE

Spanish rider, Carlos Sastre of CSC secured the victory today on Stage 17, the 210.5 kilometer stage from Embrun to L’Alpe d’Huez-the trifecta, featuring three leg destroying climbs, the Col de Galibier, the Col de la Croix de Fer and, L ‘Alp d’Huez.

The 33-year old, Sastre but can now claim a major win on arguably the most famous stage in the Tour de France. The gift of the yellow leaders jersey accompanied his win today.
