STAGE 16: MARTIGNY (SWITZERLAND) - BOURG-SAINT-MAURICE, 159 KM: VIEWS FROM THE RBA CAR ON STAGE 16
July 21, 2009

Stage 16 of the Tour de France features two leg-burning climbs: The Col du Grand Saint Bernard (24.4 km at 6.2-percent average) and the Col du Petit-Saint Bernard (22.6 km at 5.1-percent average).  We drove the course this morning ahead of the race on our way to the finish at Bourg-Saint-Maurice, a popular destination for skiers and cyclists on the Franco-Italian border. The descents will be fast so stay tuned.

Cycling is alive. I couldn't believe the thousands of cyclists lining the course, riding the climbs, descending the climbs....Tour groups everywhere and cyclists making their way up these climbs in order to hopefully catch a glimpse of their heroes.
