Road Bike Action visited with our old friend, Team Lampre mechanic Enrico Pengo, who showed us Damiano Cunego’s new Team Lampre Wilier Cento Uno. "This is a new version of the Cento Uno", explained Pengo at the Tour De France. "It comes in two versions; with and without a seatmast. Cunego is racing with the non-seatmast version at the Tour with a 31.6mm seatpost." Pengo explained "Wilier used a Mitsubishi 46K unidirectional high carbon fiber material and is a total monocoque, with special, asymmetrically molded chainstays."

Pengo also pointed out the new version of the Wilier Cento Uno's integrated bottom bracket shell, for Campagnolo’s Ultra-Torque bb bearings and adaptors for Shimano and SRAM are in the works. "This new Cento Uno has a wider BB shell that makes the frame stiffer and more responsive." Pengo also claims that
the frame is about 200 grams lighter than the previous Wilier Cento Uno version.

Cunego will stick with Campagnolo’s Record 10 speed, while his Lampre teammate Ale Ballan is one of the select few riders at this years Tour De France to test Campagnolo’s exciting new Super Record 11 speed groupset.
