So after a long, arduous "Planes, Trains, and Automobiles" like day of travel, we arrived at the Tour de France press building to get our credentials and take a quick look some Ag2R, Leopard and SaxoBank team bikes before another arduous drive to the town of Nantes. Here I sit at 2:00 a.m. following an epic dinner at La Cigale, an older local eatery that was opened in 1895, trying to make some sense of all I've seen while trying to stay awake. Meanwhile a bunch of locals are celebrating Hakim's 18th birthday in the apartment next door with a succession of fireworks and small bombs.
You know you're in France where they obviously Love The Velo!
Here are the Brother Schleck bikes with their new Project One paint schemes which are supposed to be made available to the public starting, no wait, it already is July 1, so I guess the new paint program has already started - at least in Europe.
Look for a whole lot more Tour tech to come in the days ahead. Until then, here's just a snippet of the latest I have to offer....

LET'S NOT FORGET ABOUT SELLE ITALIA...
When we were having a discussion about Selle Italia's SLR Monolink saddle I asked if there was any chance that they planned to introduce a saddle with a popular cut-away design to accompany their "friction free" standard version. After a little hemming and hawing, someone went to another room and came back to show me this pre-production version - very cool! Look for a full factory story follow-up here soon.
