Bell Sports has introduced an all new helmet, the Volt, in a big reveal at the 2008 Tour De France with Team CSC-Saxo Bank and Crédit Agricole. Bell Vice President Tom Larter told Road Bike Action that “The Tour always delivers excitement and drama. CSC and Crédit Agricole are always at the sharp end of the race come Tour time and we’re thrilled to have them debut the Volt.”
Don Palermini, Bell Sports marketing manager told Road Bike Action that “our all-new Bell Volt helmet, which comes into our line just above the popular Sweep model, combines massive ventilation, light weight and high-tech comfort features. Volt is an all-new model eveloped from the ground up.”
Volt has 11 frontal vents that channel massive amounts of air via unique, custom-sculpted Composite Fiber Intakes (CFI) which direct flow to the helmet’s internal StreamJet Ventilation channels. Rearward exhaust ports and the moisture-wicking X-Static padding work in tandem to help keep the rider cool and dry. Volt is even more comfortable thanks to Bell’s new Twin Axis Gear (TAG) fit system, which allows riders to dial in the exact fit and adjust the TAG’s horizontal position on the back of the head. Volt is designed to be used either on or off-road, with Bell’s removable Variable Position Visor (VPV).
