The X-Lock Special Titanium Skewers use the same basic design as their standard X-Locks, but with every extra gram of material removed in an attempt to make the lightest quick release skewers possible. Both the axles and lever arms are manufactured from grade 5 titanium. The axles' center sections are then swaged to increase their fatigue life and further reduce weight. The 7075 aluminum axle ends are then machined to the smallest possible dimensions for a total weight of 32-grams
