TECH NEWS: POWER CORDZ
January 26, 2009

Power Cordz Cable Systems has just released their new 1.2-millimeter derailleur cable set and housing system.  The 1.2-millimeter Power Cordz are modeled after standard steel cables for compatibility, but are made from a fiber called Zylon that is as strong as steel but reduces weight by over 75%. The Zylon fiber significantly reduces weight and prevents permanent stretch or deformation, which is a problem with old-fashioned steel cables.  The 1.2-millimeter Power Cordz alone will shave roughly 20 to 25-grams from your bike at a reasonable price compared to other upgrades.

The new Power Cordz are fully compatibility with all standard shift systems from Shimano, SRAM and Campagnolo. Power Cordz will also work with standard 4-millimeter housing systems. The 1.2-millimeter Power Cordz are available in two package configurations – cables only or as a complete system featuring Teflon™ coated housing, and sealed alloy ferrules.

PRICE: $36.95 ($69.00 with housing)
