The Hed 3 Carbon (H3C) wheelset was developed when top teams in the professional peloton wanted lighter time trial wheels. The shape of the H3C is unchanged from the standard H3 wheel, but for the H3C model the aluminum rim was replaced with a carbon version. The carbon rim results in 170-grams less rotating mass and is still one of the most aerodynamic wheelsets in the world. The H3C is only available as a tubular in either 650 or 700c sizes. The rear wheel comes with a Shimano cassette or fixed gear setup. A pair H3Cs weigh 1640-grams.
