RACE REPORTS: VUELTA A ESPAÑA STAGE ONE REPORT

Starting 7th in the short Stage 1 Team Time Trial in Granada, Team Liquigas powered home in 8’21” to capture the win ahead of highly motivated Euskaltel-Euskadi and Caisse d'Epargne teams. First across the finish line was Liquigas rider Filippo “Pipppo” Pozatto who took the race lead ajnd will wear the first Maglia Amarillo tommorow on Stage 2 from Granada-to Jaen over 167.3km, the hometown of Pozatto’s former Liquigas teammate Manuel “Triki” Beltran, who was thrown off the Liquigas squad and out of the Tour De France last month after a positive test for Epo.
