Astana rider Daniel Navarro boosted his chances of securing a spot in next month's Tour de France after winning the fifth stage of the Dauphine Criterium on Friday. Slovenian Janez Brajkovic, of the RadioShack team, retained the race lead after the 143.5km ride from Serre-Chevalier in the Alps to here, which included climbs over the Col du Lautaret and Chamrousse. Brajkovic has a lead of 1:41, over main challenger, Tour de France champion Alberto Contador, ahead of Saturday's difficult penultimate stage, which finishes on the summit of Alpe d'Huez.
