Peter Sagan (Liquigas) won the fifth stage of Paris-Nice on Friday, a 157-kilometer ride from Pernes-les-Fontaines to Aix-en-Provence, as the 20-year-old notched his second success of the week. Two time Tour de France champion Alberto Contador retained the leader's yellow jersey after Sagan attacked less than 2-kilometers from the line to edge out Italian Mirco Lorenzetto by 2-seconds.

"I like to attack on the final hill," said Sagan, who also won the third stage to Aurillac. "After my first stage win three television crews went to my house to interview my parents," he laughed.

In the overall classification, Contador is 20-seconds ahead of Alejandro Valverde, who picked up 4-seconds on the leader with bonus points after he placed third on the day. Saturday's sixth stage is the longest of the event, a 220-kilometer run from Peynier to Tourrettes-sur-Loup.
