Greenville, South Carolina has been good to Dave Zabriskie. In fact, as long the USA Cycling Professional Championships have been held there he has never lost the time trial. Today was no exception as the Garmin-Slipstream rider charged around the course to set a dominating time of 39:37. This was Zabriskie's fourth consecutive and fifth time trial title

The race had been expected to be a battle between Zabriskie and last year's second place finisher Tom Zirbel of the Bissell team. Zirbel recently beat Zabriskie in the time trial at the Tour of Utah, but on this day could not match the strength of Zabriskie. While he still finished second, Zirbel was long 44-second off the blistering pace set by Zabriskie. Scott Zwizanksi of the Kelly Benefit Strategies team rode well for third spot, finishing 1:41 behind.
