2008 Olympic road race silver medalist Davide Rebellin (Diquigiovanni) took the win in Stage 4 of the 55th Vuelta a Andalucía. After a tough 162km stage, old man Rebellin edged out Filippo Pozzato (Katusha) for the win, while Aussie Cadel Evans was third. Early on, a break that went from the start in Marbella and lasted 150km, with Julian Sanchez (Contentpolis-Ampo), Luis Angel Mate (Diquigiovanni), Francisco Jose Martinez (Andalucia-CajaSur) and Inigo Landaluze (Euskaltel) was brought back with 10km mark, just before the deciding moves were made.

The race’s GC had no changes as Joost Posthuma (Rabobank) is still race leader. Thursday is the Queen Stage of the Vuelta a Andalucia-Ruta Ciclista del Sol, 165km of up-and-down from Torrox Costa to Antequera, with five climbs. Watch out for the last ascent up the Torcal (1st. Cat.) with just 14km. to the finish in Antequera.
