Spain's Luis Leon Sanchez, riding for the Caisse d'Epargne team, has won the 36th edition of the Tour of the Mediterranean. Sanchez triumphed after the sixth and final stage disputed over 170km, French rider David Moncoutie of Cofidis won the sixth stage ahead Colombia's Mauricio Soler, of Barloworld and Chris Froome of Great Britain.
