RACE REPORTS: TOUR OF MED STAGE 3: ISTA DOES IT IN ISTRES

24 year old Belgian puncheur Kevin Ista (Agritubel) team took Stage 3
of the Tour of the Mediterranean between Maubec-Coustellet and here
Thursday. Ista out sprinted Frenchman Jimmy Engoulvent (Besson
Chaussures) and Spaniard Jose Ivan Gutierrez (Caisse d'Epargne), who
took the overall lead from teammate Luis Leon Sanchez. Ista, a former
junior national champion of Belgium and U-23 Tour of Flanders winner
won the 2008 Route Adélie last April, while Gutierrez took the 2007
edition of the Mediterranean Tour. The race is likely to be decided on
Sunday's Stage 6 from Nice to Toulon, that finishes atop the difficult
Mont Faron climb.
