On a warm, sunny Canary Island morning at the Hotel Las Madrigueras in
Playa de las Americas on Tenerife, Lance Armstrong and his Astana
teammates gathered in the underground garage across from the hotel
where the team bikes were stored.

slipped in for a look-see early in the day, avoiding the scrum of
photographers, video cameramen and sports reporters from all over the
world looking for some love from Lance.

bits Astana might be riding at their first get together since Lance
Armstrong’s comeback. Los Astana Boys, including Levi Leipheimer (L) get ready to ride
Astana’s
head mechanic Chris Van Roesbroek told us that “everything is going
well so far; we have some new guys but all in all there are few changes
from last year. We have Trek and SRAM and Bontrager and we know all the
material very well.” Chris and his team had all the bikes ready to go
when the first few riders began arriving at 10:15 for the 10:30 ride,
captained by Lance Armstrong himself.
